Titanic 666

I was watching random Youtube channels, trying to figure out what to watch. One Youtube channel I follow (and really like their videos, you should check them out) Bloodbath and Beyond, did a trailer reaction and it intrigues me. The cast looks decent and it looks entertaining. So I watched Titanic 666. Boy, this movie feels like a SYFY Channel movie, down to even the bad/cheesy CGI. But props to Tubi for doing original movies/TV.

PLOT

Titanic III is launching with a lot of fanfare, including relics from the original Titanic. Unknown to all, a descendant stows away and decides to resurrect the victims of the original ship to get revenge.

MY THOUGHTS

I counted at least 8 kills, but there were more. I mean, it’s the Titanic sinking, so a lot more will die. Lots of deaths but not bloody or gory. Not even really interesting deaths. What little blood there is (the guy's head is knocked off), is just really bad CGI. The evil “ghosts” are not even scary looking. Just grayed out and eyes blackened out.

The acting was decent. One of the reasons I chose this movie is because of the actors. Keesha Sharp (from Leprechaun 6: Back 2 Tha Hood and Lethal Weapon TV series) plays the ship Captain. Jamie Bamber (from Battlestar Galactica) plays greedy Professor Cochran who, basically, is the cause of this mess. There are several other recognizable actors as well. Which is a shame that the CGI was so bad.

Titanic 666 starts off with the maiden voyage of the Titanic III. Along with a variety of interesting characters. We have a married couple who are Social Media Influencers. And yes, they are kind of obnoxious as most Influencers are shown as. We also have a Professor who is showcasing his Titanic collection. He did a dive where he found a huge collection of Titanic artifacts and now is showing them off. Also, he’s hoping to sell them off for a lot of money. Then you have a security “specialist” hired by the board of directors for the ship company, so just to make sure everything is safe. And finally, a young woman who stowed away, who is acting very suspiciously and is up to no good.

Everything seems to be okay and “normal”, except for the young woman who steals one of the artifacts and takes it down below. The influencer couple walk in on her doing some sort of witchcraft sort of spell. The couple leave thinking it’s just for show, but we soon see the ghost of the original captain appear.

From this point on weird things happen. Lights go out, phones, as well as electronics stop working. And then people start disappearing or dying in weird ways. But, as usual, when someone figures it out, nobody believes them.

Overall, it’s not really that good. Titanic 666 feels like it can’t decide if it wants to be a cheesy horror movie or a serious horror movie. In the end I don’t feel it was either. It’s a basic SYFY channel movie with bad CGI and a story that is very thin at the most. If you like this type of cheese and bad CGI then check it out. Otherwise just pass on it.
