Evil Toons

Seeing the cover photo of Evil Toons would have made me so excited as a teenager. I loved slasher movies back then (I still do, but it’s different now). Add in a cartoon demon and I’m there. Let me say I don’t have high expectations for slasher movies.

Quick Bite: Abigail

Oh boy Abigail is a fun ride! I was going in with a little hesitation because the trailer felt like it gave away too much information (and I still think it did). But I’m so glad I watched Abigail. From the same directors as Scream, ScreamVI, and Ready or Not, Abigail fits right in and they are becoming the directors I look forward to seeing their new works.

Quick Bite: Tarot

I’m a little late to the game with Tarot. At first I was excited but when people started saying it was horrible, I hesitated. I shouldn’t have listened to the hate. Is Tarot a great movie? No. Is it bad? No. It’s a middle of the road, watered down, teen slasher movie that had good points and some not so good parts.

Bikini Bloodbath: Car Wash

I found Bikini Bloodbath: Car Wash while trying to set up my movie list for Summer of Trash Challenge 2023. Shout out to Rich Trash on Letterboxd for setting this challenge up. The first prompt was to watch a movie with any kind of swimwear in the title. I took one look at the cast and plot and knew I had to watch it.

Willy’s Wonderland

When this came out, I was super excited. Nicolas Cage and animatronics that kill. Who wouldn’t like this? I know that we’ve been waiting forever for a Five Nights At Freddy’s movie and this seems very similar. But I don’t care. I’ll still see that movie. For now, Willy’s Wonderland scratches that itch that I didn’t realize I needed.

Quick Bites: Demonic Toys: Jack-Attack

Where have I been? I think I heard they were planning on making this but I didn’t really hear anything about it. So, while making my 31 Days of Horror Challenge list, I saw this was coming out and I knew I would be watching it. Granted I was a huge Full Moon/Charles Band fan back in the day, but I lost some interest in it. However, lately with their individual Demonic Toys movies, I’m back onboard as a fan. Demonic Toys: Jack-Attack didn’t let me down. I had fun with this movie, and I hope they do more sequels with it.

Quick Bites: The Blackening

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…Halloween of course! So with this Halloween season starting I chose The Blackening to start off with. The Blackening is a 2022 horror comedy from Tim Story (known for 2005 Fantastic Four and its sequel, 2019 Shaft, and several music videos). From the first time I watched the trailer I was excited for this movie. A horror comedy and a slasher, what more can you want?

Beach Massacre at Kill Devil Hills

I never heard of Beach Massacre at Kill Devil Hills. After watching this movie, I realize why I’ve never heard of it. The only reason is because Darcy the Mail Girl (Diana Prince) from The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs mentioned she was in it. I was determined to watch it then.
