Castle Freak
Castle Freak has a kind of gothic feel to it with it being set in an actual Italian castle in Italy. This was one of the first Full Moon movies I watched after discovering the Puppet Master series. Also, my first introductions to Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton. A darker movie than some of the other Full Moon movies, but pretty good.
Hideous!
Hideous is another low budget horror from Charles Band and Full Moon Entertainment. We get our typical little monsters, nudity with Lovell, and just enough humor to keep it entertaining. Plus this was made during the greatness of the earlier Full Moon Entertainment movies. For me, the earlier movies are more re-watchable than the new stuff coming out.
The Dead Hate the Living
The Dead Hate the Living is Charles Band’s version of a film crew making a horror movie that stumbles onto zombies. With a lot of Easter eggs to the great Lucio Fulci. So, a low budget horror movie that’s actually not too bad.
A Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio
I have a love/hate for horror anthology movies. There are so many out there, that it’s hard to find the good ones when there are a ton of bad ones. Plus, it’s hard to get several good stories into one movie. Usually there’s a mix bag. And this one is actually not bad. Though, one of the stories was already on YouTube.
Witchouse III Demon Fire
Wow! The direction this movie decided to go. Witchouse III decided to totally disregard the first two movies all together. The only feature that is present is the idea of Lilith. Well, the good news, for me, is that I’m now done with the Witchouse franchise.
Witchouse II Blood Coven
This time J.R. Bookwalter and Charles Band try to capitalize on found footage movies like the Blair Witch Project. There does seem to be a little bit better budget for this film and we have the return of Ariauna Albright as Lilith. She also gets to play a professor.
Bloodlust Subspecies III
In Bloodlust Subspecies III we continue with the horrible Radu, however, he has become a bit more sensitive. Talking about missing his brother and how he feels for Michelle. He also has terrible mommy issues. I mean, what happened to our evil, crazy Radu? That’s the vampire I’m here for.
Bloodstone Subspecies II
Personally, I normally don’t like it when a sequel changes a character's actor. I understand things change, but it normally takes me out of the story. In this case, I think Denice Duff improved the character of Michelle immensely.
Subspecies
The Subspecies series is one of my favorite Full Moon Entertainment franchises. Who doesn’t love a good vampire series (especially when the vampires don’t sparkle. LOL)? This movie is set in an actual castle, Bran Castle in Romania.
